Twenty years have passed since Gerald Durrell returned to the Greek island of Corfu in the company of his lifelong friend and mentor, the late Dr Theodore Stephanides. On the eve of the drama serialisation of Durrell's book My Family and Other Animals, this early film. one of the first ever made in colour for television, provides a unique opportunity to see these two together in real life, as they visit unspoilt childhood haunts, which are much changed today.
