Lady in the Lake

on BBC Two England

continues the season of films from the writings Of RAYMOND CHANDLER starring Robert Montgomery Audrey Totter
In this third 'Marlowe' thriller, Chandler's detective is played-and directed - by Robert Montgomery in one of the most unusual films ever made. The central character is depicted subjectively by the movie-camera, so the ace detective is only seen in reflection. Even so, it does not stop Marlowe being involved in plenty of complicated and exciting adventures, attempting to unravel the mystery of the lady found wet - and very dead - in the lake.
