The House Detectives

on BBC Two England

Continuing the series that unearths the secrets of ordinary homes. This week the team visits an elegant Georgian house in Ironbridge, Shropshire. Investigations reveal it was once the local telephone exchange, built in the 18th century on the profits of coal. One of the house's previous occupants turns out to have been a drunken, womanising, barge owner. Presented by Juliet Morris, with resident experts Judith Miller and Mac Dowdy.
