Radio Parade of 1935

on BBC Two England

Continues the season of films celebrating the 60th anniversary of BBC Radio. Starring Will Hay, Clifford Mollison

NBG Radio has few listeners, not surprisingly since its programmes are rubbish. When Garland, the incompetent Director-General, appoints a new programme controller his efforts are sabotaged by theatrical agents. But Jimmie finds remarkable talent in the halls of 'Broadcasting House' including singing charladies and a great dance band. He also discovers a phenomenon, introducing -
in 1935 - the world's first simultaneous broadcast of radio and colour television! Made mainly in black and white, this film is remarkable for its array of talent and its colour sequence which climaxes the film.
