Ella, crazy about the local jazz, is disappointed when her father decides to move to
Chicago. Ten years on, still in love with the New Orleans sound, she meets up with trumpet player Johnnie, and together they live through the decades of evolving styles in music and dance.
Made in 1942, this atmospheric recreation of the early days of jazz concludes with an all-star jam session featuring such great names as Benny Goodman , Joe Venuti , Harry James and Gene Krupa.
