Nine pairs of amateur cooks compete for the opportunity to go into business with chef and restaurateur Raymond Blanc. In the first elimination challenge, three pairs must host large formal events for a demanding client on a strict budget. Their lack of experience soon shows when kitchen staff cannot cope, food is inedible and clients are far from satisfied.
