Kirsten Simone and Henning Kronstam in dances from the Royal Danish Ballet's production of 'La Sylphide' and 'Casse-Noisette'
The Pro Arte Orchestra
(Leader, Antony English)
Conductor, John Lanchbery

Introduced by Peggy van Praagh.

These programmes, Stars of the Ballet, are intended to bring to the television screen stars from ballet companies of different countries. So far England and Sweden have been represented. The two stars of the Royal Danish Ballet who have flown from Copenhagen to dance today are Henning Kronstam, one of the most outstanding male dancers in the world, and Kirsten Simone. They have chosen dances from two ballets in which they both give notable performances-La Sylphide, the story of the Scottish nobleman whose romantic dream of a beautiful Sylphide entices him from his ordinary life, and Tchaikovsky's Casse-Noisette. Peggy van Praagh introduces and interviews the stars.
