Hazel Irvine introduces the opening day of live coverage from Royal Lytham and St Annes of the Women's British Open.
Favourite to lift the title in Lancashire is Se Ri Pak, who has already won two of the year's major tournaments - the LPGA and the US Open. Two-time US Open champion Annika Sorenstam of Sweden is the likely spearhead of the challenge to the Korean, while British interests are represented by Lisa Hackney from the Potteries and 1986 winner Laura Davies, who has run into form recently with a victory at the Chrysler Open in Gothenburg. The defending champion is Australia's Karrie Webb, who triumphed last year at Sunningdale.
