The re-named RFU Club competition reaches the semi-final stage this afternoon with this clash between two sides who have proved themselves to be among the best in the north.
Certainly they are not short of international talent as Sale have Fran Cotton and recalled England scrum-half Steve Smith, while Gosforth can call on flanker Peter Dixon and Scotland hooker Duncan Madsen.
