Covering motor-racing's Formula One World Championship on Sundays through the summer, and featuring tonight: The Monaco Grand Prix
The classic two-mile circuit round the houses of the fashionable Mediterranean principality is the first European venue of the championship. After four rounds so far, the honours are even between Colin Chapman's British Lotus team and the Italian Ferraris with two wins each. Lotus's Mario Andretti (US) and Ferrari's Carlos Reutemann (Argentina) share the lead in the Drivers' Championship. The reigning champion Niki Lauda, twice a winner at Monaco, still waits for his first success of 1978, while James Hunt will aim to improve on his record of not finishing in the last three races.
Leading positions:
M. Andretti (US) - Lotus 18
C. Reutemann (Arg) - Ferrari 18
R. Peterson (Swe) - Lotus 14
P. Depailler (Fra) - Tyrrell 14
N. Lauda (Austria) - Brabham 10
