A Life on the Move
Joan Sutherland 's voice is loved by millions of people around the world, thanks to her recordings and her appearances at leading opera houses, most recently at Covent Garden in 11 Trovatore.
Tonight's film follows Dame Joan and her husband, the conductor, Richard Bonynge , over a year in their busy life. We go behind the scenes at the New York Met and the Sydney Opera House, on tour in Japan and Korea, and watch recording sessions in London and at the Bonynges' home in Switzerland. Including excerpts from Australian Opera's productions of Norma, La Traviata and The Merry Widow, a Wagner recording session and various songs in rehearsal and recital. Narrated by RICHARD BAKER
