Pobol y Cwm comes to BBC2 every week from Monday to Thursday. With the aid of English subtitles, BBC2 viewers can follow this Welsh-language soap - joining it nine months behind the current series in Wales - and the Deri Arms could become as famous as the Vic and the Woolpack. "It has a fiercely dedicated following in Wales," says series producer Glenda Jones, "but it doesn't fly the flag of Welshness. The human dramas and humour are universal."
In the first episode, chef Eileen leaves husband Denzil to put their baby twins to bed, while news spreads about head teacher Beth.
