Destination Doha 2: The Difficult Bit
Yesterday's The World About Us followed the adventures and misadventures of four men and three 40-ton lorries across Europe to Istanbul. Today they set out over the Bosphorous Bridge into the emptiness of Asia Minor, ahead the Middle East and Arabia. This is the difficult bit. There are problems enough in Turkey and Syria, but there is no road at all south from the Baghdad road out of Jordan to the pipeline in northern Saudi Arabia.
