A World of Percussion

on BBC Two England

James Blades , veteran percussionist and a leading authority in his field, beat his drum for the BBC's overseas war-time V signal and struck his tam-tam for the boom of the J. Arthur Rank gong. Join him on a tour of orchestral percussion instruments and their history, liberally spiced with anecdotes from 50 years' experience. He is assisted on the piano, and sometimes on other instruments by his wife, Joan Goossens.
