Bill Brandt is the father of modern English photography. Next week his retrospective exhibition, covering 27 years, opens at the Hayward Gallery in London.
Review visits the elusive Brandt and looks at his pictures, which range from playboys and unemployed miners in the Thirties, to the Blitz, the English landscape, and his unforgettable female nudes.

The Original Peter is an entertainment for television devised by Mike Westbrook and John Fox. Their aim is to achieve a fully integrated form of multi-media entertainment, drawing on any form of musical, visual, or theatrical expression.
Tonight's programme is based on an original jazz score by Mike Westbrook and features:
The Mike Westbrook Concert Band with singer Norma Winstone, The Amazing Maskar, The Original Peter, Cherokee Indian Joe (Great Leaping Bison), Petev V, The Mighty Atom (late of Brighouse), The Edmund Campion Gymnasts, The Welfare State Bradford College of Art and others
