Alan Price on George Orwell with Lindsay Anderson
While writing a musical based on the Jarrow March of the 1930s Alan Price read many of George Orwell's essays. He finds in them an unrivalled feeling and understanding for the unemployed and hungry, and a unique sensitivity to social injustice anywhere. He also delights in Orwell's unashamed yet unsentimental love of England. With readings by Lindsay Anderson and music from the Alan Price Band, this is a celebration of George Orwell.
