The third of nine films
The American Connection
A British company now owns more native American oil than any other. But to get that oil from the shores of the Arctic Ocean and into the great American marketplace, BP had to find an American partner.
This film is a portrait of that company, Standard Oil of Ohio. Even in the States most people had never heard of Sohio before the partnership. Now it's the most profitable sector of the BP empire. Just what does the American connection amount to? And how much say does the British parent have in Sohio's affairs?
