The quiet countryside around the small market town of Selby in North Yorkshire will soon be the setting for the newest and richest coalfield in Europe. Twenty miles away, in the old pit villages of West Yorkshire, hundreds of miners brace themselves for the mass migration to a new environment. As the miners prepare to move and country folk await their arrival, problems are posed for both communities.
