Following yesterday's screening of Chariots of Fire Sally Magnusson tells the moving story of one of that film's two heroes - Eric Liddell , the unorthodox but brilliant runner who, having astounded the world with his Olympic gold medal, went off to China to serve God, only to meet an untimely death in a Japanese internment camp. With his widow Mrs Florence Liddell Hall, his sister Mrs Jenny Somerville, fellow athletes, fellow missionaries and fellow internees.
