The Story of Saturn
When the planet Saturn was first examined telescopically in 1610, it was believed by Galileo to be a triple world. Only later was it found that Saturn has rings.
Patrick Moore looks back at some of the strange old ideas, and shows what can be seen this month with a small telescope when Saturn is best placed - with its rings wide open. Producer PIETER MORPURGO
