Tonight The John Dankworth Orchestra
with Cleo Laine
The first half of tonight's programme features two items by the band; the first one, 'David and the Bloaters,' is from a collection of pieces John wrote based on Dickensian characters, and the second, 'Don the Dreamer,' is from the recent LP Windmill Tilter' which the John Dankworth Orchestra recorded, featuring the compositions of one of the finest young jazz musicians in this country, Kenny Wheeler.
The rest of the programme features the marvellous singing of Cleo Laine in a short selection of classical material.
