Norman Parkinson , an acknowledged master of high-fashion photography, is equally celebrated for his portraits of the rich and the beautiful. But recently Parks, as he likes to be called, agreed to do a pictorial essay on the Thames Valley, showing what has been preserved, what has been destroyed, and what is under threat from often mindless development.
