The defending champions ROY ARMSON and NOEL BURROWS enter the fray tonight - strongly fancied to become the first pairing to retain the BBC2 Top Crown Trophy. But they face possibly the best pairing from the Midlands in PETER VARNEY and BOB GILFILLAN. Though new faces to this particular tournament, they have a host of individual Midlands' titles to their credit, and they could provide something of an upset if they play to form. RICHARD DUCKENFIELD introduces the action.
