HRH The Prince of Wales presents The Mick Burke Award to the winning cameraman in the expedition film-making competition. Last year six groups were selected by the BBC and The Royal Geographical Society and supplied with Super 8mm film equipment. The resulting films, often taken under considerable hardship, include the Doug Scott epic climb of the Ogre, life in a Yemeni village, a kayak voyage through ice-floes in Spitzbergen, a journey to the monasteries in Ladakh, India, and a Stone Age tribe in New Guinea. David Attenborough introduces the winning film in its entirety with extracts from four others.
