Faust Symphony

The third of three different - and contrasting - versions of the Faust legend in music, based on the verse drama by GOETHE with Kenneth Riegel (tenor) and the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Bernstein who also introduces the programme In his Faust Symphony, Liszt paints portraits of the three principal protagonists - Faust, the disillusioned alchemist; Gretchen, the maiden seduced by Faust; and Mephistopheles, the embodiment of evil.
