A Hollywood star of musicals, out of a job for two years, comes to New York to try his luck on Broadway and meets two old friends who have written a musical. All they have to do is find someone to produce the show... Vincente Minnelli has gathered together all the right ingredients including the incomparable Fred Astaire. And as a bonus there is a delightful performance by Jack Buchanan as the theatrical jack-of-all-trades Jeffrey Cordova.
