Counterblast: Deadly Silence

on BBC Two England

In March 1997, Sandra Downes was told that her 20-year-old son Marlon had been found dead in his police cell in Harlesden, north-west London, two days after being arrested for alleged rape.
She recalls her quest to find out more about her son's death and argues that the inquest system should bechanged to allow families of the deceased greater access to information.
