Marta Meszaros 's award-winning film traces the growing relationship between two women, both isolated, lonely individuals.
Kata, a widowed factory-worker, has a fairly casual affair with a married man. She would like a child but her lover will not accept the responsibility of a second family. One day Kata is approached by Anna, a girl from the local institution for children in care, who asks if she may meet her boyfriend in Kata's home.
