The second of seven programmes Nancy Mitford
A Portrait by Her Sisters
NANCY MITFORD 'S four surviving sisters appear in one programme to describe how close her brilliantly funny novels, The Pursuit of Love and Love in a Cold Climate, are to life as it was lived in Gloucestershire, London and Paris between the wars and after. There is Pamela who shows us Gloucestershire, where Lord Redesdale brought up his six daughters and one son; Diana, widow of Sir Oswald Mosley , in Paris; Jessica, herself a distinguished author, now in California, a seasoned rebel and left-wing sympathiser; and Deborah, the Duchess of Devonshire, Nancy's youngest sister.
