The period is 1900. Lieut. Harry Faversham resigns his commission on the eve of his regiment's departure for the Sudan. His action is interpreted as cowardice and he receives four white feathers. But he is determined to prove the accusation false, even at the risk of his life at the hands of wild Dervish tribesmen.
