Trooping the Colour

on BBC Two England

A recording of this morning's military spectacle in London, at which Her Majesty the Queen took the salute when the Colour of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards was trooped to mark the occasion of her official birthday.
Eric Robson describes the scene on Horse Guards Parade as well as the fly-past later by 16 Tornadoes of RAF Strike Command watched by members of the Royal Family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty is accompanied by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel Grenadier Guards;
HRH the Prince of Wales, Colonel Welsh Guards;
HRH the Duke of Kent, Colonel Scots Guards;
HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg,
Colonel Irish Guards.
