Fourth of eight programmes
West Berlin lies deep within East Germany, an island surrounded in part by its infamous wall, occupied by Allied troops - a symbol of East-West relations.
Yet its 24-hour lifestyle and sometimes radical politics act as a beacon to young people from all over Europe.
With the help of cult star Blixa Bargeld, students, former squatters and Mancunian ex-patriate Mark Reeder, who came to Berlin six years ago for a holiday and decided to stay, Red Herrings takes a dip into the West, the wall, and the long, long night.
