Powaqqatsi

on BBC Two England

A visual essay which explores, without plot or dialogue, the lives and cultures of the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin
America, intercut with sequences set in the First World, notably Paris and Berlin. Featuring a haunting score by the celebrated American minimalist composer Philip Glass. Powaqqatsi is director Godfrey Reggio 's follow-up to 1983's Koyaanisqatsi, both films deriving their titles from the Native American Hopi language.
