An Island Called Danger Narrated by DUNCAN CARSE
In the centre of the Indian Ocean -juSt south of the Equator, and almost the furthest point from land - is the remote Chagos Archipelago. From soundings made in 1837, Charles Darwin came to the conclusion that the seven Chagos islands were all that remain of the Largest coral atoll the world has ever known - but that it was dead, eroding and disappearing beneath the waves.
Earlier this year, biologist DAVID BELLAMY and a Joint Services team of skilled divers spent two months exploring these uninhabited tropical islands, in an attempt to uncover the secrets of ' Darwin's Dead Atoll'.
This film is the story of that expedition and shows the wildlife that was discovered - on land and under the water.
