Young Dulcima Gaskain one day passes the squalid farm of miserly Mr Parker as he arrives home blind drunk. She helps him inside and later offers to clean out his farmhouse. Soon wily old Mr Parker is persuading her to become his permanent housekeeper -and something more-and Dulcima is cunningly getting all she can as payment while secretly meeting a handsome young gamekeeper.
