For the first time since the Grand Prix circus moved to Europe nine races ago, the championship leader CARLOS REUTEMANN looks to be under serious threat. Last year's winner here, Brazilian NELSON PIQUET, is only six points behind the Argentinian and JACQUES LAFFITE'S victory in Austria two weeks ago leaves him 11 points adrift of the top.
