Fourth of a six-part documentary series.
I Go to Work on the San Diego Trolley
When the Katrina Saunter is called in the twice weekly dance at St James's Church Hall, Elsie sits it out.
Her husband, Brian, who shares her passion for sequence dancing, is on the other side of the world, in San Diego.
Brian Woodward was one of the 2,000 workforce made redundant when North East
Shipbuilders in Sunderland closed at the end of last year. With no prospect of using his skills as a loftsman in Britain, he took a contract in an American shipyard.
While Elsie spends lonely evenings at home watching Come Dancing, Brian spends his spare time in search of the white tuxedo he has always wanted for those special dance evenings back home.
