Crime and Punishment: The Blue Lamp

on BBC Two England

Basil Dearden's classic 1950 drama stars Jack Warner in his first appearance as London copper PC George Dixon. The popularity of the character was such that the BBC later brought him back to life to star in the television series Dixon of Dock Green.
