Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Paul Douglas, Robert Ryan, Marilyn Monroe
Mae Doyle returns to her native town after years of big-city living. She marries a simple fishing-boat captain for security but comes to prefer the virility of his best friend, Earl, a cinema projectionist. Against the background of a remote, rugged fishing village on America's west coast their triangle drama is played out.
It is interesting to see Marilyn Monroe in one of her early roles - as Mae's sister-in-law who admires the sophisticated city girl.
