A triple Saturday Matinee bill of films starring Orson Welles opens with his adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy. Driven by his own ambition and that of his unscrupulous wife, Macbeth murders the King of Scotland and takes his crown. Welles not only played the title role but also directed, produced and wrote the screenplay.
