This popular Grimm classic is the story of a poor young boy who goes out into the world to seek his fortune. Encountering the sorcerer he is offered the job of his apprentice, for the sorcerer wrongly believes the boy, Hans, can neither read nor write. When Hans discovers the sorcerer is using his knowledge for evil he studies the secrets of the magic book in the hope of overpowering the wicked magician.
