Wagner's Ring: Twilight of the Gods: Act 2

on BBC Two England

The ninth episode in the Bayreuth production of The Ring of the Nibelung by Richard Wagner divided into ten weekly parts.
Hagen's plotting, urged on by his father Alberich, builds to a mighty climax. Siegfried has been drugged to make him forget his love for Brunnhilde. She is dragged humiliatingly before the crowd as Gunther's unwilling bride; and when she sees the ring on Siegfried's finger she denounces his treachery. The finale is a superb trio of vengeance.
