In this essay on loneliness, first shown in the Forty Minutes series, five characters in search of someone are sitting on a train. The retired man tries to find his happiness in singles' clubs; the young man through computer dating. The unattached mother uses a box number to find the new man in her life. The man sitting opposite her has all but given up hope of finding a partner. The mature lady in the corner is adjusting to her loneliness. She has just become a widow.
All five share a common problem. Yet as the train goes down the line, not a word is spoken. No one communicates.
