Ivy Jeffers took nearly 70 years to fulfil a lifelong ambition and become a minister. After a colourful career and a long, happy marriage, her husband died. When the wounds had healed she found new vitality in her work for the Congregational Church, and at 68 became the oldest woman in Britain to be ordained. Now 81, she is still preaching.
