A Question of Attribution

on BBC Two England

Another chance to see this BBC film, winner of the Bafta Award for Best Single Drama of 1991, being shown as part of the Alan Bennett season. Starring James Fox, Prunella Scales

Director John Schlesinger and producer Innes Lloyd teamed up with Alan Bennett for the last time on this adaptation of his successful National Theatre play. A witty examination of the thesis that appearances can be deceptive, it centres on a chance encounter between Anthony Blunt, Surveyor of the Queen's Pictures and the "fourth man" in the Cambridge spy ring, and Her Majesty the Queen.
