Australian Cinema: Moving Out

on BBC Two England

continues a major season of films new to television. starring
Vince Colosimo
Maurice Devincentis
'Australians speak
Australian - not wop,' says
Gino to his girlfriend. It's just one more problem for the handsome teenager who is part of an Italian family and community in Melbourne - and bitterly resents their unwillingness to become part of their new country. Gino has other problems too: school is proving a drag and his family are moving home. Gino would sooner move out. This vivid and often amusing portrait of adolescence has some sharp observations of the Australian way of life - at its best and its worst.
