Search for the Great Apes
Narrated by CAROLINE MEDAWAR
Dian Fossey and Birute Gaidikas -Brindamour have spent nearly 15 years between them in the forests of Africa and Borneo trying to do for the gorilla and orang-utan what Jane Goodall did for the wild chimpanzee. Now, through painstaking and persistent determination, both women are edging closer to a fuller understanding of our fellow primates. The first time a mountain gorilla touched her, Dian Fossey wrote: ' For that fleeting instant a bridge spanning a chasm of immeasurable time linked our two species. I thought myself the most fortunate person in the world.' In this film we can share such rare and moving moments through some remarkable photography of our nearest animal relations.
