Play School: Useful Box Day

on BBC Two England

A programme for children at home.
Presenters this week, Miranda Connell, Lionel Morton
In the story chair, Charles Leno
Today's story is called "The Horse and The Hat" by Mabel Watts.

"Over in the meadow, in the sand,
Lived an old mother turtle
and Her little turtle one..."
That's part of the poem for this week. In Play School today there are more meadows, and a river made with bits and pieces from the Useful Box. On Tuesday a drum, cymbals, and a mouth-organ are some of the musical instruments Lionel tries to play all at the same time, and then he becomes a one-man band.
There's more band music on Wednesday, when the windows show dancers in a ballroom. On Friday there are spring flowers and blossom, and Lionel and Miranda sing some favourite songs - old and new.
