Hancock and Sid decide to go on a relaxing cruise in search of romance. Hancock becomes convinced the ship is sinking, and the captain has to take drastic measures.
Hancock’s TV set breaks down and he faces a night without television. Thinking he may go mad with boredom he sets off on a quest with Sid to find a working set.
Sid wants to open a fish and chip shop and asks Hancock to invest his life savings. Hancock refuses and their friendship is in peril when both believe murder is afoot.
Hancock decides he wants marriage and children to carry on the Hancock family line. He auditions a selection of eligible ladies and is surprised by the outcome of his proposals.
Hancock takes out a murder mystery book from the library but finds the last page missing. Hancock turns detective to find a complete copy of Lady Don’t Fall Backwards.
It’s East Cheam’s centenary and Hancock sells the TV rights to the parade. The only trouble is the mayor has sold the rights to a rival and Hancock has to take drastic action.
Hancock is the ninth passenger in a lift for eight people. When the lift gets stuck between floors, his attempts to cheer everybody up don’t go down too well.
Hancock has had enough and decides to emigrate, but no country will take him. At the end of his tether he enlists Sid’s help in finding him a new home.
