Three years ago Professor Muir was shown a manuscript at Trinity College, Dublin, in which he recognised some of Sir Thomas Wyatt 's poems, though neither he nor any previous editor of Wyatt had made use of it. It contained more than thirty of Wyatt's known poems and, in addition, so many unpublished poems by Wyatt and his friends that the discovery has been called ' the most wonderful addition to the poetry of the English Renaissance that this generation has seen.'
